Smile4pet is a mobile service. We’re working with Vets in Connecticut, New York, and the Massachusetts States.
Smile4pet always provides a pre-dental exam to determine whether the pet is good for teeth cleaning without anesthetics.
Eligible patients include:
Our technician put himself in a cross-led yoga position (Sukhasana). A dog is lying on its side with the head on a knee; the other leg is above the dog to control the animal’s body. Then, the dog calms down by using a unique technique that includes a combination of the dog trainer’s recommendations and the actions used in pediatric dentistry.
Smile4pet does not use restraining towels, CBD, specific treats, bars, anesthetics, or sedatives.
No, it’s not painful. None of our actions are physically sensitive for the pet. We do not use force retention of the animal and perfectly understand what our manipulations might lead to injuries. The safety of the animal, as well as our dental technicians, is our highest priority.
Unfortunately, not all animals are good candidates for teeth cleaning without anesthesia. Before starting the procedure, the technician examines the oral cavity and communicates with the animal.
14% of cases are too late to use anesthesia-free teeth cleaning, for example, a periodontic disease at its last stage, and it’s a job for veterinarian care. In this case, the dog goes to the planned treatment under the supervision of the treating veterinarian.
Yes, we are.
As you know, many terriers are very restless dogs; sometimes, it is challenging to work with them. Aggressive dogs that are not capable of positive communication are not suitable for our procedure. The safety of the dog and the employee conducting the operations is our priority.
We have the same equipment that is used in human hygienists except our scalers are smaller, because pets have smaller teeth. We also carry hand scalars, piezo (ultrasound) scalers with multiple tips, dental hard tools, professional polishers, and polish pastes. All our hand equipment is sterilized and individually packed in medical zip bags.
On average, it’s taking around 40 – 45 min for a dog, and around 25-35 min for a cat
The process of a cat is different for the dog. The teeth cleaning process is different as well. For example, the majority of cats can’t tolerate polishing equipment, so we do polish cats’ teeth, but we do it manually, which is not so effective.
In our opinion, it is much more difficult to negotiate with cats than with dogs. In some cases, we have to wrap the cat in a cocoon. We are not big fans of this technique.
It’s a question of commercial negotiation. For us, it makes no difference, but most of the Vets to prefer to charge their clients themselves.

Imagine how much your dental practice would increase if every patient were offered low-risk, high-quality dental cleanings at an affordable price. Anesthetic-based dental cleanings can seem costly to the client. Unfortunately, even affluent clients are resistant to regular maintenance cleanings due to cost. Add the "cost question" to their apprehension of anesthesia, and they may only have a traditional anesthesia-based dental once every several years. This can lead to hundreds of lost dental appointments per year for your practice. Smile4pet makes regular dental cleanings safer & more affordable.
