We had an amazing experience with Dimitri. My dog’s teeth are bright white after having a cleaning, and I couldn’t be happier with the service. I would have expected my dog to go under to have such a thorough service. I would highly recommend this company and the service to anyone. Thank you so much for the excellent job!

The work he does is really an essential for pet owners and he knows how to handle animals with the utmost care and get them to trust him with sharp objects in their mouths! The results are incredible and keep your pup from having to get anesthesia before it’s needed. Would recommend it to any dog owner!

D came and was extremely professional and gentle with my dog. My dog's teeth are great!

This is obviously a very unique procedure, especially as a house call. Dmitri was friendly, polite, and very respectful. I have a 10lb pomeranian mix and he was so wonderful with her. I hate putting her under for cleanings although sometimes it may be necessary. He gave me so much great information for the future and really cares about what he does. I’ll use them in between surgical cleanings as needed always. Thank you!

We had a wonderful experience with Dimitri. He was personable and handled Gino with care. The before and after is amazing and I love that Gino did not have to go under anesthesia to get his teeth cleaned. Definitely recommend and will continue to maintain teeth cleanings with Smile4pet

A big thank you to Smile For Pet anesthesia-free teeth cleaning. They did a fantastic job. I have a Chihuahua that can't be sedated for teeth cleaning because of health issues. D did a great job keeping my dog calm and comfortable while cleaning his teeth and if you've ever had a Chihuahua you know that's next to impossible. I will be booking another appointment in 6 months. So happy to have found this service.

How it works?

01
  • For Veterinary Staff: After evaluating a pet under your care, your front desk staff can effortlessly schedule an appointment using our simple and intuitive software. This process is designed to be quick and straightforward, ensuring no disruption to your practice’s workflow.
  • For Pet Owners: Alternatively, we can provide a QR code that can be displayed in your clinic. Pet owners can scan this code to book an appointment directly, offering convenience and reducing the need for staff involvement.
02

Once an appointment is booked, our system takes over. It automatically sends confirmation notifications to the pet owner and also provides timely reminders about the upcoming appointment. This feature ensures that clients are well-informed and reduces no-shows, all without any extra effort from your staff.

03

The Smile4Pet dental cleaning service typically takes about 50 minutes, followed by a brief 10-minute client checkout process. To facilitate smooth transactions, we provide an easy-to-use and charge payment terminal at your location. As an alternative, we can also send a payment link directly to the client during the service, offering flexibility in payment options.

04

Our service is not just a one-time event; it’s part of a regular maintenance routine for pet oral hygiene. Depending on the individual needs of each pet, we will schedule follow-up visits in 6, 9, or 12 months. This ensures continuous care and offers a recurrent service for your clients, enhancing their satisfaction and loyalty to your practice.

Common questions:

Smile4pet is a mobile service. We’re working with Vets in Connecticut, New York, and the Massachusetts States.

Smile4pet always provides a pre-dental exam to determine whether the pet is good for teeth cleaning without anesthetics.

Eligible patients include:

  • Young pets. First teeth hygiene
  • Senior pets, for which anesthesia is too risky
  • Pets with healthy gingiva & mild to heavy supragingival calculus.
  • Pets with health limitations that make them at high risk for anesthesia.
  • Pets with stages 0-3 periodontal disease.
  • High-risk breeds such as:
  • Branches (Bulldogs, Pugs, Boxers, Boston Terriers, as well as cats, like Persians, Exotic Shorthairs, and others with “pushed in” faces)
  • Sighthounds (greyhound, whippet, Italian greyhound, Afghan hound, Borzoi, Irish wolfhound, and the Saluki)
  • Herding Breeds (collie, border collie, Australian shepherd, and the sheltie)
  • Toy Breeds
  • Giant Breeds (Newfoundland, St. Bernard, Great Pyrenees, etc. )
  • Doberman Pinschers
  • cats up to 12 years old

Our technician put himself in a cross-led yoga position (Sukhasana). A dog is lying on its side with the head on a knee; the other leg is above the dog to control the animal’s body. Then, the dog calms down by using a unique technique that includes a combination of the dog trainer’s recommendations and the actions used in pediatric dentistry.

Smile4pet does not use restraining towels, CBD, specific treats, bars, anesthetics, or sedatives.

No, it’s not painful. None of our actions are physically sensitive for the pet. We do not use force retention of the animal and perfectly understand what our manipulations might lead to injuries. The safety of the animal, as well as our dental technicians, is our highest priority.

Unfortunately, not all animals are good candidates for teeth cleaning without anesthesia. Before starting the procedure, the technician examines the oral cavity and communicates with the animal.

14% of cases are too late to use anesthesia-free teeth cleaning, for example, a periodontic disease at its last stage, and it’s a job for veterinarian care. In this case, the dog goes to the planned treatment under the supervision of the treating veterinarian.

Yes, we are.

As you know, many terriers are very restless dogs; sometimes, it is challenging to work with them. Aggressive dogs that are not capable of positive communication are not suitable for our procedure. The safety of the dog and the employee conducting the operations is our priority.

We have the same equipment that is used in human hygienists except our scalers are smaller, because pets have smaller teeth. We also carry hand scalars, piezo (ultrasound) scalers with multiple tips, dental hard tools, professional polishers, and polish pastes. All our hand equipment is sterilized and individually packed in medical zip bags.

On average, it’s taking around 40 – 45 min for a dog, and around 25-35 min for a cat

The process of a cat is different for the dog. The teeth cleaning process is different as well. For example, the majority of cats can’t tolerate polishing equipment, so we do polish cats’ teeth, but we do it manually, which is not so effective.

In our opinion, it is much more difficult to negotiate with cats than with dogs. In some cases, we have to wrap the cat in a cocoon. We are not big fans of this technique.

It’s a question of commercial negotiation. For us, it makes no difference, but most of the Vets to prefer to charge their clients themselves.

Benefits for Practice

Our service increases your anesthesia-based dental clients.

There is a high demand for our service all over Connecticut state. As we know, the first symptoms of a pet's periodontal deceases could be meat at the age of 3.
95% of owners don't open the dog, cats’ mouths. So, most of the owners are just not aware of potential oral problems. Before the procedure, all dogs and cats have teeth examination. Being professionals in the dental field, we can identify possible problems and direct them to regular treatment if it is necessary.

Follow-up care

Our service is regular (period 4, 6, or 12-months repeat); you always remain in touch with your customers.

Follow-up care

Constant linking of clients to your practice allows you to form a stronger relationship. Maintenance appointments are an ideal incentive for clients to visit their veterinarian frequently, providing opportunities for check-ups and wellness exams.

Benefits for your practice

Holistic Alternative

Many owners of pets are trying to keep the most "green" lifestyle. Even if your practice does not provide holistic services, such clients are growing every year. You are no longer tied to the principle of all or nothing.

Promotion

Smile4pet constantly promotes the service in various ways. We can provide a steady flow of new clients interested in our service to your veterinary practice. We do not need any help from your staff. We book and provide customer support via our website. All customer records can to transferred to your clinic database.

More affordable for more patience

Imagine how much your dental practice would increase if every patient were offered low-risk, high-quality dental cleanings at an affordable price. Anesthetic-based dental cleanings can seem costly to the client. Unfortunately, even affluent clients are resistant to regular maintenance cleanings due to cost. Add the "cost question" to their apprehension of anesthesia, and they may only have a traditional anesthesia-based dental once every several years. This can lead to hundreds of lost dental appointments per year for your practice. Smile4pet makes regular dental cleanings safer & more affordable.
