What to do before our Smile4pet hygienist arrives, and how to set up your home for the visit

Thank you for booking with Smile4Pet. Please read this page before your pet’s anesthesia-free oral hygiene appointment. It explains how to prepare your pet, what our technician needs at your home, and what may prevent the appointment from being performed. Our technician performs the oral hygiene procedure inside your home. Please prepare the appointment space before our arrival so we can begin on time and keep the visit safe and calm for your pet.

Quick Preparation Checklist

Here’s what you need to do before our technician arrives:
  1. Please don’t feed your pet for 1 hour before the appointment.
  2. Make sure your pet has a short walk and time to relax before we start.
  3. If your pet takes anxiety medication, you can give it as usual.
  4. Prepare a quiet space inside your home with access to an electrical outlet — that’s where the procedure will take place.
  5. Have two clean towels ready for the technician’s use.

Home Setup

Please prepare a quiet indoor area where the technician can work safely. A living room, kitchen area, or another calm, open space is usually fine.
  • Provide access to an electrical outlet.
  • Keep the area clean, clear, and reasonably quiet.
  • Secure other pets away from the working area.
  • Children under 14 should stay away from the working area during the procedure.
  • Please avoid distractions while the technician is working with your pet.
The technician may choose the safest working position and setup based on your pet’s size, behavior, and comfort level.
That’s all — no other preparation is usually needed.
